Monmouth Park Race Track The Monmouth Park Race Track, located in Oceanport, New Jersey, has been home for the "Sport of Kings" at the Jersey shore since it opened July 30, 1870. The track is well known for the annual $1,000,000 Haskell Invitational, the richest invitational thoroughbred horse race in North America. The Track just hosted the prestigious Breeders Cup in 2007.

Prior to the 2007 Breeder's Cup, the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority awarded a contract in early 2005 to Rutgers University, Cook College Turf Management Department, for the renovation of the 45 year old 7/8 mile Turf Course. Maser Consulting was brought on to the team to provide design and construction management services due to the extensive knowledge of the facility and surrounding area.

The facility boards up to 1,600 Thoroughbreds between April and November for training and racing purposes. Tracks that exceed 500 horses for a 45 day period require a Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation Permit (CAFO) from the NJDEP although the permit is a Federal requirement. Monmouth Park has 1 of 6 CAFO permits issued to racetracks in the Nation. Recent requirements of the CAFO permit require that there is no discharge from the site for up to a 25 year event. Maser has been award the contract to develop conceptual solutions to address this permit requirement.
