Contracted to design a telecommunications installation at the Glendora Fire Company in a residential section of Gloucester Township. In order to meet the requirements of the carrier, landlord, and Township, a functioning clock tower was proposed to house telecommunications antennas instead of a more common tower installation. The clock tower consists of steel and fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) members. Unlike concrete and steel, FRP does not hinder the transmission of radio frequency waves. This allowed the carrier to construct a telecommunications site in a residential area that looks like an extension of the existing fire station and avoids a negative visual impact on the surrounding community.
Our services included site survey, site planning, exterior insulation and finish system design, coordination and review of the structural design of the clock tower, expert testimony, soils sampling and analysis, concrete foundation inspection, natural gas coordination, underground utility mark-out, construction stakeout, and special inspections.
