Princeton University Complete Streets Improvements

Princeton, Mercer County, NJ

Worked with Princeton University to advance University initiatives to improve and enhance pedestrian and bicycle facilities and to provide a premier network for the safe passage of all users. This effort included enhancements at seven signalized intersections and three mid-block crossings throughout the campus. These efforts included various technological safety enhancements, such as full traffic signal modifications, accessible traffic signals (audible), passive pedestrian detection, high-friction surfacing installation, ADA curb ramp improvements, pedestrian and intersection lighting design, enhanced signing, and Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacon (RRFB) installation. Services also included bid and construction tasks such as pre-bid and construction meetings, field oversight, and punchlist generation. These improvements were designed at the following locations:

  • Washington Road and Prospect Avenue
  • Washington Road and McCosh Walk
  • Washington Road and Ivy Lane
  • Washington Road and William Street
  • Washington Road and Goheen Walk
  • Washington Road (C.R. 571) and Faculty Road
  • Faculty Road and Boathouse Crossing
  • Faculty Road and Broadmead Street
  • Faculty Road and Alexander Road
  • Alexander Road and Canal Path
